报告摘要:
The first part of this talk will introduce the recent advances of microdisplays. The second part of this talk will introduce the design aspects and applications of OLED microdisplays with high definition resolution. The topic includes:
(1) The manufacture process: Traditional manufacture process of the OLED microdisplay separates the OLED process and the silicon CMOS process. Our process flow fabricates the pixel pattern in one process, so the manufacture cost will be reduced in a great deal and the product yield will also be increased.
(2) The scan algorithm: Traditional display usually support up to 256 grayscale levels of the pixel. Our scan algorithm support more than 4096 grayscale levels, which makes a super restore of the display resolution and color.
(3) The driving circuit: Traditional OLED driving circuits are mainly designed for TFT (Thin Film Transistors) substrates. They are not suitable for microdisplay whose current is only around picoamp (pA)-level currents. We put forward a novel circuit which supports micro pixels and also incorporates an OLED degradation compensation mechanism.
(4) The system design methodology: This talk will introduce the system design method of the microdisplay, including the silicon chip design and display sub-system design.
(5) Application: This talk will introduce several popular applications of the OLED microdisplay, including wearable head mounted display and wrist watch.
